LitCliqueTerms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the LitClique app and its web pages, made by Robert Brady ("we", "us"). By using LitClique you agree to them. If you downloaded LitClique from the Apple App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies, and these terms add to it.
What LitClique is
A tool for book clubs: nominate and vote on books, a Spin to choose between them, meeting planning, a simple expense record, and a club shelf. Clubs are private: there is no public feed, discovery or direct messaging.
Your club and your content
Organizers and co-hosts manage a club and can see and remove its members. What you put into a club (names, pitches, notes, dietary notes, ratings) is visible to that club's members. You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything unlawful, harassing or that you do not have the right to share. Keep your personal link private: anyone who has it can act as you in the club.
Free plan and Premium
The free plan includes up to 10 members per club, nominations, voting, the Spin, one open date poll and one scheduled meeting at a time, RSVPs, the potluck table, and a shelf showing the last 6 picks. Premium is bought by the club's organizer for the whole club and adds unlimited members, repeating meetings, the expense ledger with receipt reading, the full shelf history, and unlimited polls and meetings.

- Free trial: new subscribers get a 30-day free trial of the subscription, as shown in the app before you subscribe.
Prices are in US dollars and may differ in other countries; the app shows the price for your store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, or when the free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings; you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you subscribe. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Members of a club are never charged.
If a club's Premium ends, nothing is deleted. Premium features become read-only and the free limits apply again. A meeting that is already scheduled still works for every member.
Getting the book
Library, Bookshop.org and Libro.fm links are always free to use and never locked behind Premium. They leave LitClique and are governed by those sites' terms. We may earn a commission on purchases; it never changes your price or our picks. Audiobook purchase links are available in the United States only for now.
Money
LitClique does not process, hold or transfer money between members. The expense ledger is a record kept by the club. When you settle up, you pay each other directly, for example with Venmo or Cash App, under their terms. We are not responsible for payments between members or for the accuracy of amounts the club enters; receipt reading gives suggestions that you confirm.
Fairness of the Spin
The Spin chooses between the books the club's own settings put on the wheel, using a random seed committed in advance so anyone can verify the result. We do not influence which book wins.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the app or its servers, for example by trying to get around limits, overloading the service, guessing other people's links or invite codes, or reverse engineering it except where the law allows.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time (Settings, Delete my account). See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription.
Availability
We work to keep LitClique available but cannot promise it always will be. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue Premium, we will stop renewals and tell you in the app.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount paid for LitClique Premium for your club in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use LitClique means you accept the updated terms.
